Sarah Krohn is a Chicago-based indie pop-rock artist who makes music for people who feel too weird for the normal kids and too normal for the weird kids. She leans into that dichotomy; filtering it through songs about: yearning–for people, for understanding, for a self that doesn’t exist.
Growing up as a fangirl of One Direction, Sarah has always been drawn to the ache of longing: the pang over a crush, being content as a loner while also wanting to belong. She began producing music at 14 on her brother’s bootleg copy of Logic Pro and has carried DIY ethos as her sound continues to evolve. Her voice is the lovechild of Phoebe Bridgers and Hayley Williams–soft, but with an edge, sitting comfortably alongside artists like Samia and Holly Humberstone, while drawing inspiration from Pinegrove, The 1975, and Midwest Emo.
Sarah performs both as a solo artist with an indie-folk bent and with her band, which leans into a fuller indie pop-rock sound. Her live shows are just as much a space for cathartic headbanging as they are for existential self-reflection. Known for raw honesty and playful banter, she creates a communal atmosphere where vulnerability feels electric. She has shared stages with artists including Barrie, Olive Klug, and Peter McPoland, and continues to grow a dedicated fanbase both online and in person.
On Instagram and TikTok (42k+ followers), Sarah makes videos about introspective topics such as creativity, DIY music-making, communication, flirting, working in live music, and the messy romance that fuels her songs.
